Another valuable safety feature in cars is the ABS / ESC system (anti-lock braking system and electronic stability control), which are composed of hydraulic units that control the pressure inside the car’s brake system. In cases of hazardous driving situations (e.g., emergency braking), by releasing and applying pressure in a very high frequency, the ABS prevents the wheels from locking up and skidding while the ESC improves the car’s stability, automatically applying braking to wheels individually and minimizing loss of control.
Our critical parts for ABS/ESC systems include Meldin® guide rings, injection molded seal rings, tappets and poppets that provide the following benefits in current and future autonomous driving systems: reduced wear, less weight, a high level of precision in demanding environments, improved lifetime, constant leakage control and less hysteresis.
